Mi-Fi Monitor is a perfect companion for the Novatel Mi-Fi 3G Router, allowing you to keep track of your router's battery and signal levels without getting it out of your bag or opening a web browser.
Any device made by Novatel Wireless should work, provided that your wireless carrier has not tampered with the firmware.

Devices made by other companies like Huawei, Samsung or carrier-specific devices like the Verizon Fivespot are not currently supported.
Mi-Fi Monitor is designed to work with the remote status API found in Novatel Mi-Fi devices. This allows it to be reliable and fast. Other devices do not have such an API, supporting them would require pulling data from the web interface for each device in a unique way, a process that is error-prone.
The Mi-Fi is a very lightweight and low powered device, though it supports remote monitoring and has its own web interface, Novatel advises that 3rd party applications only query the device every 3 seconds to avoid overloading it
Mi-Fi Monitor is not a tethering app, it will not allow you to tether other devices to your iPhone for internet access. Your iPhone already supports tethering directly, however you may need to pay additional monthly fees to your wireless carrier to enable it
If you've been instructed to upgrade the firmware on your Mi-Fi, please use the links below. These are official firmware packages from Novatel, hosted by them. I can't provide support for their software but I will help customers find upgrades when needed.
Note that the generic firmware version is only intended for use with unlocked or unbranded Mi-Fi devices. If your device is "branded" with the carriers logo, or the firmware is customized (like AT&T), you will need to check with that carrier for firmware upgrades if the list below does not contain your device/carrier combo.
| Device | Version | Firmware |
|---|---|---|
| Generic Mi-Fi 23xx | 5.26.2 | link |
| AT&T Mi-Fi 2372 | 7.11.02 | link |
| Bell Mi-Fi 2372 | 5.28 | link |
These firmware upgrades all require a Windows machine and a Micro USB cable to connect the Mi-Fi to your computer.
